September 11, 2025 SHS Grade 1 Research Class: tasteSTEM II
Meeting Female Engineers and Researchers
Today, our first-year high school students took part in a special STEM-focused class featuring guest speakers from a range of universities and research institutions across the Kansai region. Experts joined us from Osaka Metropolitan University, Nara Women's University, Ritsumeikan University, Kyoto University's Institute of Nuclear Science, Morinomiya Medical University, and more.
What made this class exciting was the chance for our students to interact with female engineers and researchers who are leading the way in fields like robotics, environmental science, biotechnology, and other areas of science and technology.
Through presentations and discussions, students gained understanding into how STEM is applied in the real world. The presence of accomplished female professionals sent a strong message about inclusion and possibility, encouraging all students--especially young women--to imagine themselves as future innovators and leaders in science and tech.
This experience not only expanded students' horizons but also deepened their appreciation for how creativity and determination fuel progress in STEM.
