Our second-year US Course students enjoyed a smooth journey on the first day of their Autumn Trip.

The day began with an opening meeting at Itami Airport, led by our Junior High School Vice Principal.

After arriving safely at Sendai Airport, the students headed to their first destination, the Kadonowaki Elementary School Ruins. There, they learned the importance of being prepared for disasters and following safety instructions.

Mr. Richard gave the explanation entirely in English. The students were moved by his experiences during the Great East Japan Earthquake 15 years ago. Originally from the UK, he chose to stay in Ishinomaki because of his love for the city and has continued to support the local community.

After the visit, the students traveled to the Minamisanriku Portal Center to meet their host families. A representative of the host families explained what students should keep in mind during their homestay. Then, one of our US Course class representatives gave a greeting on behalf of the students.

Finally, the students left with their host families to spend their first night together and get ready for the next day's activities.
