The 6 Key Learnings
at RISHO
It’s full of new discoveries for children! Click to explore the curriculum.
show & tell
in morning homeroom

Great ideas mean little if they can't be shared. To help children express themselves, we incorporate "Show
& Tell" in all grades during the morning homeroom class.
In this 10-minute session, 2 to 4 students take turns presenting. If choosing one favorite thing is
difficult,
they can use PowerPoint with multiple pictures to aid their explanation.
Thinking and acting independently, even without clear instructions, is also a key skill.

Group and Pair
Learning
「相互理解」から「相互尊重」へ
Approach

Listening to each other, recognizing each other, Elevating each other and facing challenges.
SKILL
Learning starts with listening. By hearing reflecting on their words, and engaging in dialogue, we deepen understanding. This dialogue happens both with others and within us, helping us grow and face challenges.
Approach

Learning together, not just teaching each other.
SKILL
Teaching creates a "teacher → learner" relationship, which is not ideal when aiming for collaborative learning. It is important for children to engage in learning as equals in a safe and supportive environment. In such a classroom, true mutual learning can take place.
Approach

Encourage learning through peer teaching.
SKILL
Lessons should focus not on teachers teaching but on children learning. Students must think, share ideas, and learn from each other through repeated discussion. This is most effective in small groups.

RISHO Science
探究心を刺激する「利晶サイエンス」
Approach

Foster curiosity
SKILL
Through experiments and observations, children develop curiosity about nature and science, asking "Why?" and "How?" This habit of inquiry fosters intellectual curiosity, inspiring a love for learning across all subjects.
Approach

Take courage to

SKILL
Through science, we encourage children to be courageous and embrace new challenges, even if they fail.
Approach

Nurture imagination

Exploratory activities like experiments and observations engage the five senses. By sharpening direct experiences such as seeing and touching, children develop their ability to understand nature and nurture their imagination.

A key to deep learning is experiencing the real thing. Learning through hands-on experiences is far more impactful than learning from textbooks.
Approach

Feel the joy of learning
SKILL
When children encounter challenges with curiosity and ambition, real experiences excite them. Connecting their thoughts with facts builds confidence and fuels their motivation for future learning.

Shower of Inspiration
新しい刺激のシャワーをひたすら浴びせ、子どもの奥に眠る「原石」を磨く
Approach

Enhance the hidden potential within themselves.
SKILL
Children have hidden potential, but we never know what will spark their interest. By organizing events, guest lectures, and various activities, we expose them to diverse experiences. This helps uncover and polish their hidden talents.
Approach

Collaboration between elementary and high schools, utilizing digital sewing machines.
SKILL
In 2024, Hatsushiba Ritsumeikan High School was designated a Super Science High School by the Ministry of Education. Using advanced digital equipment loaned from Ritsumeikan University's College of Science and Engineering, students engage in various creative projects.
